The Bands hit the Beach!


Looks like the people at Bowery Presents have snagged a nice little piece of beachfront music venue property. Up until now Governor’s Island has been reserved for picnics, biking, skyline photography and the occasional polo match. With it’s colonial buildings and wide lawns, it’s a nice little retreat from Manhattan. So I’m looking forward to seeing a concert there this summer. Of course you have to take a ferry over, but it’s a short trip. Some of the concerts are free, but others are ticketed. All the info is on this lovely site: The Beach @ Governor’s Island.
