What’s Happening with…Arcade Fire

I hadn’t been hearing much about Arcade Fire, but just recently their name came up in connection with Spike Jonze’s upcoming film, Where the Wild Things Are. Jonze has selected the Arcade Fire song ‘Wake Up’, of off Funeral, to use as the music for the trailer. The film is still a long way off—it will be released in October (aka prime Oscar season time). An added note: Karen O of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs is also working on the soundtrack for the film. So this definitely looks like one to look forward to.

In other Arcade Fire news, the band’s documentary film called Miroir Noir will be released on DVD (with an additional deluxe edition) on April 6. The film covers the making of Neon Bible and shows footage from Arcade Fire’s tours. The film has been available since December, but only as a digital download.

Arcade Fire doesn’t have many upcoming tour dates, but you can see them next month when they play on the main stage at the Coachella Music Festival in Indio, CA on April 28th.

So that’s the scoop.

Here’s a clip from Miroir Noir. Enjoy!

That movie trailer is extremely bizarre and touching at the same time. I’m intrigued. Nice choice to use Arcade Fire’s Wake Up.
